Mount Moosilauke is the western most 4,000 footer and dominates its region. The open summit offers incredible panoramic views. Overall, this is a relatively easy hike for a tall 4,000 footer with incredible views. It’s a great peak to start out on in winter as the route is not too difficult and you will also briefly spend time above treeline.

Mount Jackson has excellent views of the surrounding Presidentials and many other peaks from its ledgy summit. We did a nice loop hike over Mount Jackson and spent the night in the backcountry by staying at Nauman Tentsite. Check out our experience on this trip!
Mount Jackson is a part of the southern Presidential Range and has excellent views of the surrounding Presidentials from its ledgy summit. In the winter, Mount Jackson makes for a short hike and a steady climb to the summit which is just above treeline where you can enjoy panoramic views.
